Mines Management India Limited reported it has found diamonds in the Krishna river basin, where some believe the Kohinoor and Hope diamonds were found.

D. Janardhan Rao, director of Mines Management India Limited, seemed excited by the find. ÒThe diamonds which we found were of a superior quality,Ó he told India's Business Standard.

Rao says the exploration work has been completed and the firm is waiting for government approval to start mining. He did not offer any production estimates.
