President Vladimir Putin has partially declassified information on volumes of the reserves, production, transfer and consumption of platinum, metals of the platinum group, and natural diamonds in Russia.

A decree by Putin declassifies all such information except information on reserves of such metals and diamonds in the State Depository of Precious Metals and Precious Stones, the Kremlin said.

The decree is based on a law of November 11, 2003, entitled "On an Alteration to Article 5 of the Law of the Russian Federation 'On National Secrets.'"
