Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration Ltd., has recovered a number of small diamonds from a kimberlite pipe in its Kokong joint venture project in Botswana. According to a press release on March 16, issued by Trivalence Mining Corp., a joint venture partner with Rio Tinto Mining, the agreement allows Rio Tinto to fund and manage the diamond exploration program in Kokong. Rio Tinto has discovered 39 kimberlites in addition to 32 previously discovered pipes. Trivalence Mining is a publicly traded company with two producing diamond mines located in Guinea in West Africa, and in South Africa.
